RESEARCH & TEXTS

This page offers a brief overview of the areas of artistic research I explore through my work at universities, publications, and collaborative research projects and platforms such as Officine Sintetiche (www.officinesintetiche.it).

For further information about this research and its ongoing development, please visit my academic profile on ORCID (orcid.org), which I update regularly.

ECOLOGY AND BIOART

My research approaches life as a network of relations between organisms, environments and technologies. Through collaborations with scientists, I explore how biological processes can become part of artistic experiences, using plant electrophysiology, molecular data, sound, vibration and biofeedback. These practices create multispecies spaces in which ecological interdependence can be perceived and experienced, opening questions about coexistence, care and the boundaries of the human.

COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE & CREATIVE POLITICS

This area explores artistic practice as a space for collective learning, shared agency and social transformation. My research connects participatory creation with forms of deeper democracy, including sociocracy, consent, distributed responsibility and self-organisation. Working with communities and interdisciplinary groups, I investigate how artistic experiences can activate collective intelligence and create conditions for more attentive, cooperative and ecological ways of living and making decisions together.

POST-MEDIA NARRATIVES

My work develops narratives across documentary, performance, interactive installation, XR, artificial intelligence and networked environments. These languages interact within experiences in which bodies, images, spaces and technologies contribute to the production of meaning. Narrative becomes an embodied and relational process: something participants navigate, influence and sometimes create together. This research explores how stories change when they unfold through interconnected media, physical situations and shared acts of perception.

OPEN & IMMERSIVE DOCUMENTARY

I approach documentary as an open and relational practice through which reality can be explored from multiple situated perspectives. Combining immersive environments, 360° cinema, VR, interactive archives, spatial sound, 3D imagery and AI, my work investigates the relationships between lived experience, memory and reconstruction. Participants enter documentary spaces through bodily and sensory engagement, encountering narratives that invite them to question their position and contribute to the interpretation of what they experience.
